Featured Wines: 9/18 Tasting
This week we are trying two wines from a very popular California winery: Carmel Road. We haven't carried Carmel Road in a couple years, but we are excited to bring it back. The winery has a new wine maker who is doing fabulous things, and these vintages are amazing! The Chardonnay sees no oak and is truly delicious. The Pinot has a wonderful complex palate, with just the right tannins and acid. I can't wait to share them with you!

Monterey Chardonnay
Monterey, California
This Chardonnay is a fresh and vibrant wine with stone fruit aromas and tropical citrus flavors. Rich and textured the wine has a smooth finish. So rich, it doesn’t need oak. Refreshing acidity, courtesy of the cool climate, heightens the golden mango, tangerine, Asian pear, white flower, vanilla bean and butter cream flavors, leading to a long complex finish.

Monterey Pinot Noir
Monterey, California
This Pinot Noir has bright cherry aromas that are layered with notes of wild strawberries and black tea. On the mouth, you get juicy black cherry flavors and notes of cola with hints of vanilla, toasted oak and well balanced tannins. A silky texture leads to a long finish. The climate of Monterey creates a wine that is bright, crisp and silky, with a perfumed fragrance leading to complex flavors ranging from cherry pie filling to rhubarbs, pomegranates and dusty brown spices, all accented by smoky oak.
